How to stop acne



Acne is a very common skin disease which not only affects teenagers but also affects adults too.  For some the acne may disappear when they reach adulthood but for some it may continue. The causes of acne are related to the changes that take place as young people mature from childhood to adolescence as the hormones that cause physical maturation also cause the oil glands of the skin to produce more sebum.  The bacteria produce irritating substances that can cause inflammation and there are times when the follicle bursts, spreading inflammation to the surrounding skin and that is how acne is formed.

There are people who feel that washing of the face many times a day removes acne as they believe acne is caused by dirty skin. Washing does help remove excess surface oils and dead skin cells; however, one should wash the skin gently twice a day with water and a mild soap which is not harsh on the skin.   Stress is commonly blamed for the development of acne. Stress can have many physiologic effects on the body, including changes in hormones that may lead to acne.   If the acne is being solved effectively, then stress is not likely to have much effect on most of the people.
